Why maps and pins may be missing from your Photo Book
Journi can automatically add maps, stamps, and dates to your Photo Book.
If they don’t appear automatically, your photos may be missing the location data Journi needs to create them.
📍
How Journi creates maps and pins: Many photos include extra information called metadata. This can include the date, time, location, camera settings, and more.
Journi uses this metadata to sort your photos chronologically and add dates, pins, and maps for you.
1
Check your photo details
Open the photo and check its details or file properties.
On most phones, swipe up or tap the info icon. On a computer, right-click the photo and open Details or File properties.
Look for date, time, and location information.
2
Check your location settings
Make sure location services are turned on for your camera app.
Check your privacy settings to confirm that location data can be saved with new photos.
Take a new photo and check whether location details are saved.
3
Avoid losing metadata during transfers
Avoid transferring photos through messaging apps like WhatsApp.
Use the original photo files whenever possible.
Upload the photos directly from the device where they were taken.
